Population Pyramid
Austria was in Stage 4 - 5, Low Stationary, in 2012. Death rates are low, with only 10.23 deaths/1,000 population, as seen in the population pyramid above, since much of the population is living to be middle-aged. Also, the birth rates are low as well,. with only 8.69 births/1,000 population, which can be seen in the bottom row of the population pyramid. So, the population should be mostly stationary and level. Another point to be seen in the population pyramid is that the birth rate is slightly decreasing, which may lower the population in the future and create an economic strain on the newer population, since there will be fewer people to fill the jobs of the current generation.
